Small Business Of The Year Award - Finalist
Most businesses fail to see that there's more to successful materials
handling than racking and stacking.
It's our approach to providing objective and honest advice and
no nonsense integrated deals that allows us to think and act differently.
That's why after just three years, we've grown from a standing
start to the finals of the Citizen & Echo's Business Link-sponsored
Small Business of the Year Award.

With annual sales set to hit £2 million this year, On3 is
proud to have started with nothing, and grown to a firm that now
employs 12 people, without sacrificng our deeply held convictions..
Launched by David Scammell and Rob Jefferies - respectively the
former MD and sales director of one of Britain's largest forklift
distributors - the Stonehouse-based business provides complete storage
solutions.
"Most in the industry specialise in forklifts, or racking
and shelving or fitting mezzanine floors, we provide any or all
of those services together with operator training, health and safety
guidance, and many other services" said Scammell.
However, it's the approach, experience and attitude that are key
to On3's success, believes Scammell, setting us apart from the rest.
"What we do is absolutely unique. We decided before we started
that if we were going to do it then we would do it right. Our number
one guiding principle is 'Honest and Objective Advice' and we try
to apply that right through the business.
"So far the philosophy has served us well. We've turned business
away that we felt wasn't right for us and yet we currently have
15 to 20 per cent of the market in Gloucester, with about 5 per
cent in neighbouring areas such as Bristol.
"If we can get our share up to 15 or 20 per cent in those
other relatively local areas we will achieve a lot of growth without
going too far afield.
"That would suit us nicely as we have no plans for world domination.
Having already run a very large company neither of us want to go
there again.
"We want to enjoy what we do while serving a quality clientele
which is close enough for us to provide the kind of service they
need and expect from us."
And seeing as it was a customer that pipped us to the post, we're
happy to give them a little plug. Well done Green
Fuels! We like the cut of your jib!
