Unscrupulous Forklift Companies Consolidated Fork Truck Services, a joint venture between BITA and FLTA has accused some "unscrupulous" dealers of failing to provide a Report of Thorough Examination certificate arguing that the annual exam is an important legal requirement that helps confirm when equipment is safe to use. The CFTS said that there were some companies operating trucks without an up-to-date certificate and were unwittingly risking their employees' safety. Steve Hodkinson, chairman of CFTS said: "This unacceptable situation is the direct result of a lack of understanding of thorough examination in the industry as a whole."
